How you buy a fishing permit for put and take

You buy the fishing permit from the one who owns the water, not from us. On every published put-and-take water there is a Buy fishing permit button that sends you straight to the right seller. There are four common ways to pay, and which one applies is stated with the water.

The four common ways

iFiske is the most common channel. It is an app and a website where thousands of Swedish waters sell permits. You pick the water, pick the permit type, pay with Swish, card or BankID and get the permit digitally in the phone in a few seconds. If you need to show it at a check, it stays in the app.

The club’s own site is used when an association sells the permits itself. Then you buy and pay on their website, sometimes with the same digital permit as iFiske, sometimes with a simpler confirmation by email.

Swish straight to a stated number is used by smaller waters. You Swish the sum, often write the date or a registration number in the message, and save the confirmation as your permit. Read the seller’s instruction carefully so the amount and the message come out right.

A machine or a shop on site exists at some waters. Then you buy the permit in a machine at the car park or in a nearby shop. Remember that the machine may want card or Swish, and that it can be empty of paper slips.

Step by step

  1. Find the water on the map or via landscape, species or municipality.
  2. Open the water’s page and press Buy fishing permit.
  3. Pick the permit type – day, evening, week or season. The differences we explain under what a fishing permit costs.
  4. Pay and save the permit. Digitally it sits in the app; via Swish you save the confirmation.
  5. Read tackle, fishing times and catch quota before you cast.

What you need in order to buy

Usually a phone with Swish or BankID is enough. If you buy via iFiske you do not create an account for a single permit, but an account makes it easier to find earlier purchases. If you do not have Swish it is often possible to pay with an ordinary bank card instead.

Digital or on paper

A digital permit you do not need to print – it is enough to show it in the app at a check. If you buy via a machine or get a paper slip, take it out to the water. Whatever the form, the permit must be showable on site, because checks do occur.

Without a fishing permit you may not fish these waters – the right of public access is not enough. If you are unsure whether you need a permit, read do I need a fishing permit?

FAQ

Where do I buy the fishing permit?

From the one who owns the water – usually via iFiske, the club’s own site, Swish to a stated number or a machine at the car park. On every water we have published there is a Buy fishing permit button that goes straight to the right seller. Put and Take Sverige does not take payment.

What is a fishing pass?

Fishing pass is another word for fishing permit – the permission that gives you the right to fish a given water for a given time. In put and take it is the permit you need, not the right of public access.

Can I buy the fishing permit on site?

Sometimes, via a machine or a shop nearby. But many waters require you to buy before you fish, especially those that sell digitally via iFiske. Read the seller’s instruction – if you turn up without a permit where pre-purchase is required, you may not fish.

Do I need the iFiske app?

Not always, but it is the most common channel. iFiske exists as an app and a website; you pay with Swish, card or BankID and get the permit digitally at once. Some clubs sell via their own site or Swish instead.
