What does a fishing permit cost in put and take?
There is no unit price for put and take in Sweden. A full day on a small pond costs something quite different from a season permit at a larger fishery. The price is set by the club or the owner and always sits with the seller – we do not copy day prices, because a wrong figure here is worse for you than a link to the one who actually charges.
What you pay for
In put and take you pay for the right to fish stocked fish for a given time, under the seller’s rules. The water plants salmonids on an ongoing basis, and the permit price is meant to cover that stocking. That is why the price hangs together with the catch quota: a permit with a high quota or free take costs more than one with catch and release.
Common permit types
Day permit or 24-hour permit applies for a day and is the most common for a visit. Often a catch quota is included, for example a set number of fish.
Evening permit is a cheaper permit for a few hours in the afternoon or evening, where the water offers it.
Weekend permit covers a weekend and suits the one who goes away Saturday–Sunday.
Week permit applies for seven days and pays off if you fish several days in a row, for example on holiday.
Season permit applies for the whole season and is for the one who fishes the same water often. The price per day becomes low, but only if you use it.
Punch card or number card applies for a set number of fish instead of a time. You fish until the quota is filled, however long it takes.
What affects the price
Stocking rate, quota and the size of the fish steer the price most. A water that stocks large fish often and lets you take several home costs more than a catch-and-release water. Location and service also play in – a fishery with a jetty, shelter and hire often charges more than a simple forest pond.
How you compare without a price list
Open the water on the map or via species and landscape, press Buy fishing permit and read day, evening, week and season with the seller. Count in parking, boat and whether bait is included, and check whether quota and catch and release sit in the price. How you then buy the permit: how you buy a fishing permit.
FAQ
What does a fishing permit cost?
There is no unit price for put and take in Sweden. A day permit on a small pond costs something else than a season permit at a fishery. The price is set by the club or the owner and sits with the seller via the Buy fishing permit button. We do not copy day prices, because a wrong figure helps no one.
What is the difference between day, week and season permits?
A day permit (24-hour permit) applies for a day, often with a catch quota. A weekend permit covers a weekend, a week permit seven days, and a season permit the whole season. The longer the time, the lower the price per day – but only if you fish often.
Why do you not print the prices?
Prices, quotas and times change with the seller. A wrong figure here is worse for you than a link to the one who actually charges. Lake-specific prices need a source, and last year’s price cannot be trusted today.
Are there youth or family permits?
Often, but the seller decides. Some permits cover a whole family, others are per person and day, and children can be included free on an adult’s permit up to a certain age. That sits on the permit’s page, not as a table we mirror.
