May I take the fish home?

Sometimes yes, with a quota. Sometimes no. Put and take means fish are stocked — not that you automatically fill the net. The seller writes the rules, and they can differ between two ponds a few kilometres apart.

Typical variants

• Catch and keep with a daily quota.
• Catch and release, sometimes only on some species or over a size.
• Fly only, often barbless and fish go back.
• Mixed: one species may be kept, another goes back.

Exact quotas (“may I take three rainbows?”) belong with the seller, because they change. We do not copy old numbers.

Why does it vary?

Stocked fish cost money. Some waters want you to take what you paid for; others want the fish fished more than once. Fly-only stretches often have stricter tackle. It is not a “Sweden rule” — it is the manager’s product.
