Gottjärn

Gottjärn is put and take in Ånge municipality, in Komsta Åse FVOF. The association stocks Arctic char. Its own day permit, not the area permit that covers Andalstjärn and Hökåstjärn. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Arctic char is the main species. This page is Gottjärn at Fränsta, not Gottjärn in other counties.

Typical of Arctic-char tarns: the fish can sit deeper in the middle of the day. That is not unique to this tarn.

Arctic char is a salmonid that likes cold, clear water and often sits deeper and cooler than brown trout and rainbow trout, especially when it is warm. Because boats and float tubes are banned in Gottjärn you fish from the bank, so think about how far you can reach with the cast.

For Arctic char, small spinners, spoons and nymphs often work. General species tactics and therefore not specific to Gottjärn.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Winter premiere is announced by the association. Check an open permit with the seller.

Arctic char bite best in cool water — early and late season, and morning and evening in summer. In strong heat they pull deeper and go slower.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Gottjärnen in Ånge municipality, signed from E14 according to the association. Not Andalstjärn and not Hökåstjärn.

On the seller’s page: choose day permit Gottjärn. The area permit for the rest of Komsta Åse does not apply in this tarn.

Take your rubbish home. The map on this site is a pin, not a parking map. Fires only where it is prepared unless there is a fire ban.
